Placement of the AM-80 Air Purifier
Routine Service and Cleaning

Purifier, carefully read all the operating instructions as well as
all the following information.
Regular maintenance of the unit will maintain its effectiveness.
BEFORE CLEANINGTHIS UNIT UNPLUG IT FROMTHE ELECTRICAL OUTLET!
1. Enclosure Cleaning
Clean the outside of the unit at least once a week with a damp paper towel moistened
with a common household detergent.
1. Do not place this unit in close proximity to electronic devices that are
sensitive to electrical fields.
Use a soft brush to clean (lengthwise) the carbon filament on the front of the outlet
grill. Make sure not to damage the carbon filament during the cleaning process.
2. Do not place this unit on metal shelving or on any electrical device.
The AM-80 Air Purifier may be placed on the floor, nightstand, table or desk
with its air outlet facing the user in order to allow proper air flow.

Wipe the area around the unit once a week with a wet paper towel to remove any
accumulation of dust.
3. IN ORDERTO PREVENT DIRT BUILD-UP, IT IS RECOMMENDEDTO KEEP
THE UNITAT LEAST 1.5 FT.(45 CM) FROMANY NON-WASHABLE SURFACE.
3. Cleaning theWashable Filter
It is recommended to clean the pre-filter every 8 weeks.
The principle upon which the ionizer works is ionization. The process of ionizing
accelerates the fallout of pollutants from the air. These pollutants may adhere to
surrounding surfaces, causing a dark smudge. Therefore placement of the unit away
from ALL NON-WASHABLE SURFACES is a must!
To Clean the Pre-filter, Follow these Steps:
1. Face the air intake grill (back of unit).
2. Press and release the filter cover (fig. 2).
3. Detach the pre-filter foam sheet from the retaining “Velcro” strips (fig. 3).

rinse and air-dry thoroughly (do not place in automatic dryer).
The AM-80 Air Purifier may be operated all day and all night. The air-flow can be
regulated either by the power switch or by moving the AM-80 Air Purifier towards
or away from the user.
5. Re-attach the pre-filter sheet to the retaining “Velcro” strips (fig. 4).
6. Replace the filter cover, bottom edge first, and snap into place (fig. 5).
CONTROL AND INDICATOR LIGHTS (fig. I):
1. The fan control is a three position-switch,markedPOWER”. The switch controls
the power to the unit and allows the user to select either high or low fan speeds.
When the unit is on, the POWER INDICATOR will be lit.
2. The ION CONTROL SWITCH is marked “IONIZER”. When this switch is
turned on, the IONIZER INDICATOR is lit and the unit releases negative ions
into the room.
Note: The ionizer does not operate unless the AM-80 Air Purifier is turned on
(either position “HI” or “LOW”).

How the Air Purifier Works
The AM-80 Air Purifier cleans and refreshes
the air in 3 ways.
Polluted
Air
1. PRE-FI
L
T
ERING
Pollutant-laden air entering the
air purifier is first pulled through
a washable high dust-holding
capacity foam pre-filter which
traps larger particles.
3. IONIZATION
The filtered air is enriched and
re-freshened with the negative
ions generated by the ionizer.
To maintain “like new”
performance, the filter is
easy to wash in soapy water.
This stage is of utmost importance
as it restores the natural balance
of the air. After the air is purified,
3
it is further cleaned and ionized
at the air outlet using Amcor’s
patented carbon filament process.

The sophisticated true HEPA filter is
a microfiber glass air filtration material,
with a remarkable ability to trap
microscopic particles while allowing
pure air to pass through.

The AM-80 filter has an
exceptionally
large filtering area:The unpleated area of
this filter is 20 sq. ft.
The filter is maintenance-free,long-lasting
and does not lose its 99.97% efficiency
over its lifetime.
